Where Ten Phases comes from
Kenneth Johnson developed Phase 10 in 1982; it was first published by Fundex Games and has belonged to Mattel since 2010. It is a descendant of the rummy family, specifically Liverpool Rummy, in which every round demands a different combination. The appeal lies in the constraint: you do not collect what fits your hand, but what the phase demands.
How it works
Goal
Be the first to complete all 10 phases. The index card on the left lists every phase with coloured markers – yours and your opponents'.
Turn
Draw a card (stock or discard) – it is shown to you enlarged. Then discard one. If you can complete your phase, pick the cards yourself: click a group, then click your cards into it, then press "Confirm".
Runs & sets
Runs go upwards and continue from 12 back to 1. Wilds (★) replace any card – but a run may hold at most 2 wilds next to each other, and a set must be mostly normal cards (a set of 3 needs 2 real cards).
Adding
Once your phase is down you may add single cards to any laid group – including your opponents'. Click a card, then the group.
Three tips for better results
- 1Lay your phase down early, even with the bare minimum – without it the rest of your hand counts for nothing.
- 2Skip cards belong on the player who is about to complete their phase.
- 3Do not collect towards two phases at once: the current task is the only one that counts.

Yes. Ten Phases runs straight in your browser, costs nothing and needs no installation. There is no paywall – the chips in the game are play money and cannot be bought. The site is funded by advertising, which appears only if you agree to it.
Do I need an account to play Ten Phases?
No. The home page offers “play now without an account” – that starts you straight away and your progress stays in this browser. An account is only worth it if you want the same progress on several devices; name and PIN are enough, and we never ask for an email address. A guest profile can be turned into an account at any time without losing anything.
